What do you get when you mix the comptroller squadron with the contracting squadron?

A Financial Acquisition Squadron!

The 366th Fighter Wing was given a task to do just that!

Comptrollers and contractors alike came together to create the first ever Financial Acquisition Squadron, March 14, 2019, at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Let’s take a closer look at each squadrons primary duties:

The 366th Contracting Squadron had the authority to enter into, administer, or terminate contracts. They were responsible for all the quality control and ethics advising MHAFB in the best interest of the Government as well as encouraging growth in support of American small business and providing business opportunities.

The 366th Comptroller Squadron dealt with the dispersal and assignment of Air Force funds to the squadrons and provided pay checks and customer service to Airmen.

Because of the nature of their career fields both squadrons work together on many projects.

“A lot of what we do is tied in together,” said Lt. Anastasia Reinhart, 366th Financial Acquisition Squadron deputy budget officer. “It flows through us and it flows through them so its just kind of making it like one big group. In a sense we all do the same thing in different aspects.”

Working hand in hand, they can accomplish both missions in a more efficient manner.

“In true Gunfighter fashion we are making history once again,” said Maj. Brian Williams 366th FAS commander “This change will not only help our Wing deliberately execute its budget, but it will remove the burden of cost, schedule, and performance execution from squadrons that don't have this expertise.”
