366th CES constructs temporary maintenance facility Published Feb. 15, 2018 By Tech. Sgt. Alexander Martinez 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- A team of 366th Civil Engineer Squadron Airmen recently came together to erect a temporary maintenance facility, ensuring the aircrew ground equipment mission can continue without delay. The CE Airmen constructed a large, heavy-duty tent structure that will be a temporary maintenance operations center for AGE. “We are out here with Airmen from three different shops within CE supporting the construction of this structure,” said Master Sgt. Frank Uecker, 366th CES Heavy Repair Superintendent. Uecker explained the building AGE currently occupies is unable to support maintenance operations because of roof issues. “[AGE] has been limited on what they can actually do in their building because of the issues, but this facility will allow them the space to continue their [work].” Uecker said. The project began Feb. 5 with the installation of a base plate and anchors followed by the raising of the frame. Tech. Sgt. Russell Smith, 366th CES NCOIC of Structures, said the project gave CE Airmen a good opportunity to train. “We are teaching these Airmen on how to construct this type of asset, and its good knowledge for them to have because they can definitely see this type of work in a deployed environment.” Adding to their training was the opportunity to set up portions of the structure in Mission Oriented Protective Posture gear during Exercise Gunslinger 18-4. With the bulk of the structure set up complete Feb. 12, the 30 by 100 foot structure will be outfitted with power connection and a climate control system.
