Update: Airman found dead

1st Lieutenant Curtis Berenguer, 25, was found dead southeast of Boise, Idaho on Sunday Dec. 3.

"This is a tragic event and our hearts go out to his family, friends and coworkers during this difficult time," said Col. Joe Kunkel, 366th Fighter Wing commander.

Berenguer's hometown was Novi, Michigan. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in May 2014 followed by his first assignment at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas as a participant in the Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training from July 2014 to July 2016. He continued his service at Seymour Johnson AFB as part of their Formal Training Unit from October 2016 to May 2017 and arrived at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho in May 2017.

The cause of death is under investigation.
