389th FS conducts tactical training with the 14th AS Published Nov. 15, 2017 By Senior Airman Citiyah Burton 366th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Airmen from the 14th Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., came to Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, to participate in tactical training with aircrew from the 389th Fighter Squadron. The training focused on enhancing the coalition between mobility and fighter aircrafts. “We took three aircraft from the 437th Operations Group from Charleston Air Force Base to come out and do some training here with the 389th Fighter Squadron to try to expand our combat capabilities,” said Capt. Joshua Slocum, 14th Airlift Squadron C-17 Globemaster III pilot. “This is a great opportunity for us to work together and develop new tactics and procedures that we can use going forward.” Integration efforts like this provide an unique opportunity for for both squadrons and showcased how the C-17 and F-15E work together— delivering strategic and tactical support to various locations, airdrops from multiple altitudes and air refueling. “It's a great opportunity to come out here and work with the F-15E Strike Eagles at Mountain Home,” Slocum said. “It’s a really important training to both of our units and it’s something that’s going to allow us to adapt and fight in the future.”
