On-Base Housing

Balfour Beatty Communities is the privatized housing for Mountain Home AFB, their primary focus is the satisfaction and well-being of the Nation's military members and their families. They work hard to provide safe, quality homes and are proud of their professional and skillful on-site management and maintenance personnel. With great amenities and engaging neighborhood events, their mission is to create family-oriented communities where our residents feel completely at home.

Their hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Balfour Beatty Communities offices are located next to the Airman and Family Readiness Center at the corner of Gunfighter Ave. and Falcon Ave.

Housing Management Office

Living in privatized housing on Mountain Home AFB provides the convenience of a close military community, it is within walking distance of food, shopping, schools, youth activities and more. For many, the economics of living on base and the family services/support available provides a safe haven for our military families.

Privatized housing consists of 564 junior enlisted units that vary between two and four bedrooms; 143 senior enlisted units with three and four bedrooms; 81 company grade officer units with three and four bedrooms, 25 field grade officer three bedroom units, and 16 field grade officer four bedroom units. There are also 6 chief prestige 3- and 4-bedroom homes as well as nine senior officer quarters.

Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Off-Base Housing

We can assist you in locating adequate and suitable off-base housing. Our office is joint located with the Balfour Beatty Communities office. However, if you would like to get started on your search before you arrive here, there is a DoD sponsored web site designed to improve and speed up the process of military service members and their families securing available off-base community housing rentals.

After completing the HOMES.mil registration process, military service members will be able to:
  • Search for available rental listings in and around military installations.
  • Review information of all available properties listed within the HOMES.mil database.
  • Contact available property owners/realtors.
  • Obtain driving directions to available rental properties.

All incoming personnel are required by Air Force Instruction 32-6001 to report to the housing office before making any rental, lease, or purchase arrangements for off-base housing.

Dormitories

We strive to create an inclusive environment that cultivates the development and training of Airmen. The Air Force recognizes that the management of Unaccompanied Housing facilities is critical to an Airman's development process. The facility is a personal residence and we strive to provide a modern, functional, well-maintained and comfortable home, as well as promote pride, professionalism and personal dignity.  Housing is provided for unaccompanied Airmen in the ranks of E-1 to E-3 and E-4 with less than three years of service. Each Airman is provided a private sleeping room, furnishings, bed linens and supplies required for comfortable living.

The dormitories consist of 680 bed spaces in six dormitories. Two dorms are "1+1 Corridor" style, which include 2 rooms that share a common kitchen and bathroom, and four dorms are "2+2 Corridor" style, which include 2 rooms that share a common bathroom. PRIVATIZED HOUSING RESIDENT ADVOCATE

Privatized Housing Residents- MHAFB now has a housing advocate that serves as the liaison to the Military Housing Office, Mountain Home AFB’s privatized housing property manager Balfour Beatty Communities, and the Installation Wing Command. The Resident Advocate will work on resolving housing issues related to safe and healthy housing as well as ensure that military member’s and their families are receiving the rights that they are entitled to under the Military Housing Privatization Initiative Tenant Bill of Rights.

If you have questions or concerns while living in privatized housing that you feel are not being addressed, please contact your Privatized Housing Resident Advocate Ms. Courtney Lewis. Her availability is Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and can be reached by phone at (208) 828-2018 or by emailing Courtney.Lewis.13@us.af.mil. Her office is located at 366 Gunfighter Ave, Building 512, Suite # 1125A (Headquarters Building).

You may also contact Ms. Lewis if you are interested in being, or learning more about becoming, a Neighborhood Representative for the new and coming Resident Council. The Resident Council will provide a forum for military members and their families living in privatized housing to discuss health and safety concerns, identify improvements, present solutions to problems and maintain positive interactions with 366 FW leadership, Military Housing Office, and the Community Management (BBC).
