Col Michael A. Perez is the Group Commander of 366th Maintenance Group, Mountain Home AFB, ID. He is responsible for timely, safe, and reliable flightline and back shop maintenance and munitions for 67 F-15E and F-15SG aircraft valued at 3.1 billion dollars. Colonel Perez ensures the organizing, training, and equipping of more than 1,500 maintenance personnel supporting lead wing power projection from four maintenance squadrons in support of two combat coded fighter squadrons, while also receiving and supporting military aviation units.
Col Perez commissioned in 2003 through the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Washington. A career logistician, he has served in both the Combat Air Forces and the Mobility Air Forces. His diverse experience includes commanding 2 diverse Squadrons, a staff assignment at Headquarters Air Force in the Pentagon, and serving as Deputy Maintenance Group Commander at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Col Perez has been deployed in support of multiple combat operations, including Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and NEW DAWN. Notably, he has served as part of the United States Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) staff in the J3 Force Management Division. Prior to his current role, Col Perez served as the Chief, Mobility Aircraft Division within the A4 on the Air Mobility Command Staff.
