Colonel Travis H. Stephens is the Commander of the 366th Operations Group. As the commander, he oversees the planning, organizing, training and equipping of military and civilian members conducting flying operations for the F-15E Strike Eagle and Singaporean F-15SG aircraft. The group includes five squadrons responsible for operations, intelligence, weapons training, airfield services, executes airspace and range schedule for more than 20,000 flying hours and 13,000 sorties annually. It also maintains combat readiness for short notice worldwide taskings and contingency operations.
Col Stephens received his commission after graduating from Sacramento State University in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Strategic Management. He has also earned a Masters of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University and a Masters of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College. As a career F-15E pilot, Col Stephens served as the MHAFB Wing Weapons Officer, 366FW OSS Director of Operations and commanded the 391s Fighter
Squadron. Colonel Stephens has also held staff assignments in the Joint Chiefs of Staff J-3 and Under Secretary of Defense for Policy.
Col Stephens is a command pilot with over 2,800 hours in the F-15E, including 1,120 combat hours over Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and INHERENT RESOLVE. Prior to his current role, he served as the Director of Force Development in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Pentagon, Virginia.
