State of the Gunfighters Briefing to Idaho State Capitol
MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho – Col Ernesto DiVittorio, 366th Fighter Wing Commander, and Airmen from the 366th Fighter Wing at Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB) traveled to the Idaho State Capitol statehouse in Boise to provide a briefing about the current state of the base to the Senate State Affairs Committee and the House Transportation and Defense Committee, January 24, 2022. This presentation focused on recent successes, upcoming events and exercises, difficulties for the base, and future plans at MHAFB.
This presentation also provided a chance to highlight Col DiVittorio’s newly released mission, vision, and priorities for the Wing.
Mission Statement – “Prepare mission-ready Gunfighters to conduct military operations anytime, anywhere”
Wing Vision – “To be the Nation’s most lethal and agile lead wing. One team consisting of empowered, innovative, and resilient Gunfighters”
Priorities – “Lethality, people, cultivate trust, and deliberate development.”
The briefing also provided an opportunity to explain the mission of MHAFB and highlight the amazing range complex that we operate. Additional topics included upcoming plans for base improvement and long term sustainment such as the planned water treatment facility, the support we provide to and receive from the local community including the base’s economic impact of $760M, and planned exercises over the course of this year. The Wing Intel Office also provided a general intelligence briefing regarding issues and threats in the world today.
