The 366th Fighter Wing held a change of command ceremony, in which Col. Ernesto M. DiVittorio relinquished command to Col. Michael C. Alfaro July 18, 2023.

Alfaro assumed command of nearly 5,000 Airmen and is responsible for more than 50 F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft and the 428th Fighter Squadron, a Republic of Singapore Air Force unit that operates the F-15SG aircraft.

The 366th Fighter Wing is one of five lead wings in Air Combat Command. It is a scalable, resilient, adaptable and proactive force, able to operate in a contested environment with joint and coalition partners anywhere, anytime. 366th Fighter Wing Airmen are deployed around the world in support of National Defense Strategy objectives.

Alfaro is a command pilot with over 2,200 hours in the F-15E, including 744 combat hours over Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Alfaro led the 4th Operations Group at Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina before assuming command and DiVittorio will be serving as Chief of Staff of the Air Force Chair at the Eisenhower School of National Strategy and Resource Strategy in Washington D.C. as his next assignment.
