Colonel Jason A. Compton

Colonel (Dr.) Jason A. Compton is the Commander of the 366th Medical Group located in Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho (home of the “Gunfighters”). As Chief Executive Officer for a multi-specialty outpatient hospital, Col Compton leads a staff of 277 personnel organized in two squadrons serving a patient population of 21,000.
Additionally, he executes a $151 million dollar enterprise of operational budgets, facilities, war reserve materiel, and contracts.

Col Compton graduated from Reserved Officer Training Corp at Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas in May 2001. After which he attended Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in May 2005. After internship completion In Corpus Christi, Texas, he was assigned to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas and
served as a Squadron Medical Element Flight Surgeon and
Officer in Charge of Flight Medicine. He completed his General
Surgery Residency at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in June
2014. Col Compton is a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons. Prior to this assignment Col Compton served as the
Commander for the 959th Medical Operations Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio- Fort San Houston, Texas.

Col Compton has deployed to Qatar in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom as a Flight Surgeon in 2007 and 2009. Most recently to Western Africa as a member of a Ground Surgical Team.
