    “If only fighter jets could talk, the stories they could tell,” said Brig. Gen. Mark Slocum, 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing Commander, and a renowned fighter pilot. Many jets become legends for their heroic feats in battle, but they are unable to tell their stories as they experienced them. Fortunately, legends never tell their own stories. This is the story of F-15E Strike Eagle, tail number 87-173, where it comes from and how innovation keeps it ready to bring the fight to the enemy.

    F-15E Strike Eagles from the 389th and 391st Fighter Squadrons execute night operations in support of exercise Gunslinger 18-4. The exercise tested personnel and units in their ability to support a contingency response to an adversarial threat here on base or in an expeditionary capacity across the globe.

  • 389th FS conducts tactical training with the 14th AS

    Airmen from the 14th Airlift Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., came to Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, to participate in tactical training with aircrew from the 389th Fighter Squadron. The training focused on enhancing the coalition between mobility and fighter aircrafts.
