MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho – The new temporary living facility was officially opened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 10. In total, the new lodging facility will be able to accommodate more families than the older ones. The new facility contains units for Airmen and their families, each featuring flat-panel TVs, full kitchens, in-room laundry facilities, play areas outside for children and, soon, free high-speed internet. MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho – Col. John Bird II, 366th Fighter Wing commander, receives the “key” to the new temporary living facility from Drasa Maciunas, Army Corps of Engineer, Seattle District, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 10 in the main lobby entrance. This facility more than doubles the old capabilities of the facility to care for in-transit personnel and their dependents and includes 20 two-bedroom units and 15 one-bedroom units -- including pet friendly and American Disabilities Act compliant rooms. Jeffrey Maxwell, 366th Mission Support Group commander, Maj. James Beaty, 366th Services Squadron commander, Drasa Maciunas, Army Corps of Engineer, Seattle District, and Zeke Johnson, RCIS Construction, were all on hand for the ribbon cutting.
