Default Air Force Logo You can't stop us!
I want to take a few minutes of your time to discuss leadership's intention with this bold motto. As you can imagine, much thought went into choosing this statement and, as with most things in life, there are positives and negatives. I want to highlight both to you, so you can be informed as you join the rest of the Gunfighters in our ORI

If you've been here during the spring months, you've undoubtedly seen thousands of tiny ground squirrels, affectionately known as "whistle pigs," running across the roadways. In many cases though, the unfortunate rodents don't quite make it all the way to the other side before becoming "whistle pig pancakes." Not a savory thought? What's even less

A U.S. Air Force member posts a status update containing sensitive information regarding their deployed spouse's movements on a personal Facebook page. An unknown, unintended agent is able to gather that information from the internet and utilize it any way they wish. Airmen and their dependents are reminded of operational security - always consult public affairs and your OPSEC monitor with questions or concerns before the release of information. There is nothing more satisfying than holding my husband in a long embrace after six-months of separation. Even after several deployments, it just doesn't seem to get old. While our significant others are gone we have this sense of pride - a right to brag about where they are and what they are doing - but what we don't realize is the impact this can

You Can't Stop Us! You can't stop us!
Gunfighters,We currently have more than 500 Airmen in deployed locations all over the world. We know what it takes to fly, fight and win. When the call comes to defend our nation we respond effectively and decisively without hesitation. As Gunfighters, we have a proud legacy dating back to World War II. More recently we brought combat airpower to

The club, library, golf course, bowling center and Outdoor Recreation all use 'non-appropriated funds,' meaning they're self-sustaining. The DOD does not pay for these services to stay in business. Using these facilities is one way to make sure those who come after us can enjoy them too, but club membership is also a way to ensure the longevity of the facilities and the events they offer. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Roy Lynch) Let’s go clubbing!
"Here we go again. Another sales pitch for the club," you mutter under your breath as yet another senior leader comes as close to telling you to join the club as they can without issuing an order."Why should I? I don't ever go there unless I have to," you think as they drone on. "Let the club go the way of the dinosaurs. No one uses it anyway."Does

Default Air Force Logo "Don't know what you've got till it's gone"
Have you ever had one of those days where you habitually throw on your uniform while watching the news, drive to work without even really thinking about what you're doing because you've done it so many times, perform your job and then, at the end of the day as you're driving home, think to yourself, "Why am I even doing this? What's the

Default Air Force Logo Everybody needs help sometimes
When we visited him in April of 2006, on our way from Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz., to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, his cancer was in remission. Just four months later, his doctor said we should find a way to get to California as soon as possible if we wanted to see him before it was too late.I was a young E-3 at the time and had already spent my family's

Within the military, we are expected to put the needs of the service before our own. Often this means spending significant time not only away from loved ones, but the places we call home as well. The Air Force however, offers a program which enables us to have the best of both worlds. As a second-time participant in the Recruiter's Assistance

Col. Ron Buckley, 366th Fighter Wing commander, show his Air Force pride during the Air Force vs. Boise State University football game Oct. 22, 2012, in Boise, Idaho. While he heads out to his new assignment he will always remain a Gunfighter! (U.S. Air Force photo/2nd Lt. David Liapis) Once a Gunfighter, Always a Gunfighter
Fellow Gunfighters,I wanted to let you know how extremely proud I am of the 366th Fighter Wing. It has been an unbelievable honor and privilege to be your wing commander for the past two years. The "Gunfighter 1" Call Sign is a very prestigious title. However, it isn't the "1" that makes the title special; it is the "Gunfighter" part that makes it

Default Air Force Logo Is your family safe?
Even though you hear the sound of the "giant voice" test every Wednesday at noon, you are still startled a bit as the unsynchronized sound begins to wail across the installation. Your heart beats a little harder though when you realize it's not noon, and it's not Wednesday."Lockdown, lockdown, lockdown" announces the giant voice.
