Food Recall: Quaker Oats and General Mills Nature Valley Bars

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE , Idaho --

The Quaker Oats Company is recalling a small quantity of Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars. Additionally, General Mills is recalling four flavors of Nature Valley Protein Chewy Bars and Nature Valley Simple Nut Bars.

Both recalls were issued due to possible Listeria contamination. Customers who purchased these products should not consume them. While healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.
